Woman slashed by robber

GURUN -- A woman received 34 stitches for her slash wounds sustained during a struggle with an intruder at her house in Kampung Banggol Lalang, here, early today.

Sharifah Hassan, 57, a single mother, was repeatedly slashed by the man during the struggle in the 6am incident.

She was injured on her right arm, little right finger and both thighs.

Met at her house, she said she was sleeping alone in her room when she was awakened by the sound of her front door being kicked by someone but before she could check it out, the intruder was already standing in front of her.

"He got onto my back, ripped by garment and tried to snatch by gold chain but I put up a fight. -- Bernama
