£8595

This car will sell for RM 160,000 in KL.
But £1 = RM 4.794
£ 8595 = RM 41,204.
So cheap ? Cannot be !

OK. The pound took a dip. Lets use the old old rate of £1= RM 7
Then £ 8595 = RM 60,165
So cheap ? Really ? Why are we Malaysians paying RM 160,000 ?

The costing is :
Vehicle CIF ── RM 60,000
Duty.Taxes/profit ── RM 60,000

The other RM 40,000 ?
Goes to the notorious AP.

If I sell 1 AP per month, my income is higher than the monthly salary of a CEO of a listed company. More than 1.5 times the annual salary of a fresh graduate.

If I sell 2 APs per month, I am a millionaire by definition : million dollar income.

Why do you want to go to U, struggle for 3-4 years, and get paid less than what they make with 1-AP ?

Now I know why AP is extended again and again, and again .......

Warning - How Air Asia Compromised Passenger´s Safety

Actually they do have a point – if you notice their arrival and departure
times, the turnaround time is very short only. Just time only for cleaning
the aircraft and passengers to board. Hardly any time for any checking the
engines, etc, etc or whatever they need to do…………..

I guess this not the only happening/s. I was caught in Taipei for 6 hours
waiting for the flight to take off and honestly I do not know whether that
plane is fit to take off. We were told that something is wrong with the
plane and when they checked they could not find the fault and the airport
authority in Taipei would not let us go unless AA KL took full
responsibility. Guess what?.... KL sent that fax and we took off......Were
we being compromised on our safety????? You probably know the answer

This guy has a valid point. I always wondered how safe is AirAsia, given the way it is managed and founded and how
much is being compromised in the name of profits! I find that it is one of the most unfriendly airline. It still owes my wife RM80/- unpaid for the last 3 years! It is not the money I care about but the principle of honesty in its dealing with customers. Don't believe me, try calling AirAsia and see if you can get through to an operator!

Until this Fernandez fellow comes up with a true explanation, leaving no stone unturned, this mail should be spread throughout the world so that those who fly AirAsia know that they do so at their own risk!

Good , I hope this warning reach as many people as possible , may be it time we should not take for granted that Air

Asia is the cheapest flight and try to save less for RM 100.00 , in exchange for our life.

Hope this message reach Air Asia - to shake them up.Thanks for your warning.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Our Bangkok trip was superb but it was scarred by one thing. Our flight with Air Asia. I will, and I am pretty certain my friends who was with me too will NEVER, EVER FLY Air Asia again. I do hope Tony Fernandez or his team

reads this. You DO NOT compromise the safety of traveller under any circumstances. Even if the flight is free, of which IT is not.

The good thing is, everything was on schedule this time - the flight boarding time and all but nightmare soon follows when the plane were on its way to the runway. We were all seated, the plane was packed to the brim as usual and many were seen in chirpy mood after their superb time I presume and the flight attendants were showing us the flight´s safety procedure.

Out of the sudden, the plane´s engine DIED. Came to a total Halt. S-T-O-P-P-E-D. Right there.

All the lights went off, no sound was heard from the engine or any equipment in the plane whatsoever. It was total silence from the plane and all we heard were whispers of confusion from our part. The pilot announcement came much later citing main electrical problem and will soon stir the plane back to the gate. I assumed that was for either troubleshooting or putting us into another flight BUT ...

AIR ASIA, the HERO ... did not only troubleshoot the problem but instead reloaded some program only and restarted the plane´s engine and ready to take off! To make matters worst, there wasn´t even any offer for passengers to get off or to change their flights!

Fearing for our safety as images of the engine dying again, we informed the crew on board we are getting off. I was not sure if the pilot had intention to get back to the gate as the plane were seen heading towards a different direction. Alas after two desperate prompting from us, they did. I thought getting off the plane under such circumstance are our rights. After all, the plane was not 100% fit to fly and it should be checked under any circumstances. But what came next was even better. The Air Asia pilot whom I assume were on his xxx number of flight
of the day (he looked tired and his eyes were piercing red) asked if it is neccessary for us to get off???!!! Is he afraid that the flight delay will cost the airline xxx amount of Ringgit???!!! Is that upmost important? The pilot had the nerve even to explained that this electrical issue is no big deal!

Air Asia, can you answer this. What if the engine died again during taking off? What if the engine died in midair?

What if the engine died during landing? Air Asia simply can´t gurantee that the engine will not die again without any proper trouble shooting.

That would be my last time stepping on an Air Asia plane. No more, thank you. More over, I discovered a better flight within Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok route and it is Lufthansa, the reputable German Airline. Not that I´m trying to apple polish them, do hop over to their Lufthansa Technical Group website to understand how stringent the German´s are with Maintenance and Safety System.

Here´s my comparison between an Air Asia Flight versus Lufthansa which I took back to Kuala Lumpur.

AIR ASIA

Fare Paid : approximately MYR 280 one way
Plane Type : Airbus 320
Seat Size : Small and Uncomfortable
Luggage : Pay Extra
Entertainment : Pay Extra
Meals : Pay Extra
Pillows and Blankets : Pay Extra
Punctuality : Average
Safety : Hell No!
Pilot Profile : Questionable. I have heard countless stories of Air Asia pilots flying as many flights per day as
possible akin to Malaysia Express Bus Service style, and partying up to late nights.

LUFTHANSA

Fare Paid : approximately MYR 350 one way
Plane Type : Boeing 747
Seat Size : Much roomier than Air Asia as this is a transit flight from Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur
Luggage : 20 kg
Entertainment : Included
Meals : Full Meal and Drinks including Sparkling Wine
Pillow and Blankets : Included
Punctuality : Good
Safety : Very Safe with Top Notch Safety Procedure provided by Lufthansa Technikar Group (own Maintenance Equipment
and Machine in Every Airport in the World)
Pilot Profile : The most well paid in the world at approximately 250K Euro per annum.
Con : It is a non daily flight

Dear readers and friends, do spread the word around. For your safety, do not save the MYR 70.00 one way difference.

You do not know how much the Malaysia Government or Media had covered up for Air Asia all this while. I simply do not believe they are all clean after this incident.

The Chinese, They Have No Window In Their Homes!!!

The Chinese, They Have No Window In Their Homes!!!

FOR THOSE WHO ARE POLITICALLY CONSCIOUS, PLEASE READ ON !!!

I think this is a good one for Malaysian Chinese to read...................and there's some truth in this....

This is so true about us Malaysian Chinese in general. We were always a lot more concerned with our own 'rice bowl' than anything or anyone else for that matter. When things get tough, like this writer said, 'we migrate, money talks'. Even now, many parents are quietly telling their children to study hard and migrate.

I remembered being a 15-year old girl in a convent school studying about the Malayan Union in a History class and having a Chinese teacher who told us in between the lines that honestly, if our grandparents etc had supported the British when they wanted to give equal rights to everyone, we wouldn't be in this situation we currently find ourselves now.

But no, our grandparents were too busy 'minding their own business' to care about politics, not realising that politicians are really the ones who decide where their 'next bowl of rice' were coming from. This is what happens from having a 'tidak apa attitude' most of the times. In the end, Malayan Union was abolished and UMNO was formed and given the 'rights' topretty much form the nation the way it is today with special privileges given to the Malays.

I also have to say I saw these Malays who participated in the Bersih Rally. I was on my way to church that Saturday when the rally was held. It had been pouring like crazy in KL that afternoon and many of them were in the LRT I was on. Damn! Was I proud of them, for having the guts to stand up against their own race for a cause they believed in?

Either we participate in the whole political process and decide how we want the future to be for us and the future generation or others will decide for us and the option to choose will therefore then be taken away from us, and then, we'll have no one to blame but ourselves for choosing to keep silence.

MY TAKE - RIGHT HERE FROM KUALA LUMPUR , DEC 20TH, 2007

THE CHINESE, THEIR HOUSES HAVE NO WINDOWS
I looked out the window. And I saw.

Thousands and thousands of Malays in the Bersih Rally. They were fighting their own kind for a cause they believed in. And they risk being ostracized by their Muslim brothers. And they risk much

I looked out the window. And I saw.
Thousands and thousands of Indians holding the picture of Gandhi in the streets. All were teargassed and many beaten with batons. At Batu Caves , they were locked in, pumped with tear gas and sprayed with chemical water.80 are awaiting trial. 31 are charged for attempted murder of apoliceman who attacked them. All their leaders are under ISA. The one that got away fled the country.

I looked out the window. And I saw.
Thousands and thousands of Chinese closing their doors. Minding their own business. Watching the soap operas. Playing mahjong. Going to the gym. Planning for holidays. Eating bah kuet teh. Enrolling their children in private schools. Going for line dancing. Changing to a bigger car.Perming their hair brown. Going to the movies. Shopping.

The Chinese. They don't look out the window.
Their houses. Have no windows.

Seperti tadi....saya memasukkan jari hantu tetapi menjilat jaritelunjuk. ....

SEKARANG.... .TUMPUKAN PERHATIAN... ..PAHAM!!! !!

Petition for animals

Please sign the petition to amend our paltry animal act ... It's
sickening how easily people get away with abusing and murdering animals.

The recent KTMB-doggie fracas as well as the poaching of tigers is a
good reason why we should take a few minutes to act on this. Let's
make it law and the punishments severe towards those who harm furry
beasts.

NAJIB RELATES DEVELOPING MALAYSIA TO PLAYING FOOTBALL

NAJIB RELATES DEVELOPING MALAYSIA TO PLAYING FOOTBALL

KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 (Bernama) -- The fever of the World Cup soccer kicking off in South Africa tomorrow was felt momentarily in the Dewan Rakyat today when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak tabled the 10th Malaysia Plan.

The ardent fan of English Premier League team Manchester United used the analogy of a successful football team to relate to the successful realisation of Malaysia's aspiration to become a developed nation and high-income economy.

"In the spirit of the World Cup, which begins tomorrow ...," he had begun the conclusion of his speech when tabling the plan.

Najib said: "For a football team to succeed, all players in the team, irrespective of their position, need to work together and play as a team. However great the footballers are as individual players, victory can only be achieved as a team.

"Therefore, to succeed (as a developed nation), we must form a 1Malaysia team that is united and aligned in purpose and vision, to achieve the best for Malaysia, through our collective best efforts."

Pua's mighty pen

$31bil Man

Interesting to know that the Pen Drive was invented by a Malaysian Chinese who could not get into one of our local universities primarily because he is not a bumiputra. He had to study in Taiwan. What a shame to our Government....everything only for Bumiputras!

We have lost thousands of good brains abroad all because of the stupid NEP and Bumiputra policies !!The fact is that we have never produced "brainy" bumiputras that are worthy of our country !

Pua's mighty 'Pen'

S. INDRAMALAR speaks to the creator of the now indispensable Pen Drive

Fact file
Name: Pua Khein Seng
Age: 31
Hometown: Sekinchan, Selangor
Education: SJKC Yeok Kuan, Sekinchan; Pin Hwa
Independent school, Klang; Chiao Tung University, Taiwan
Occupation: Engineer/ president of Phison Electonics Corp
Current base: Taipei , Taiwan
Years abroad: 12

WHEN he set off for Taiwan in 1993, Pua Khein Seng's only aim was to complete his degree in Electrical Control Engineering at the renowned Chiao Tung University and return home to work in Malaysia

Never did he envision himself heading a multi-million dollar Taiwanese company that developed the world's first USB flash removable disk, which they called Pen Drive .
Pua Khein Seng went to Taiwan to get his engineering degree but ended up staying on, starting his own company and inventing the pen drive.

"I went to Taiwan to pursue my undergraduate degree. I chose Taiwan only because it was too expensive to study either in the United States or Singapore"However, I did well in my undergraduate programme and was offered a place to do my masters," explained Pua, who was back in Kuala Lumpur recently for a holiday.

After completing his Masters in July 1999, Pua worked for about six months in a local company before deciding to set up his own venture company with four fellow engineers who had studied with him at Chiao Tung."We were confident that we had the know-how and ability to start our own business, which is focused on USB technology. The company is called Phison because there are five of us – two Malaysians and three Taiwanese engineers," said Pua, 31, who hails from Sekinchan, Selangor.

Phison Electronics Corporation was set up in November 2000 and within six months the young entrepreneurs came up with their first invention – a USB storage device called Pen Drive
"We were the first company in the world to develop the USB Drive SoC (System On Chip) and we were very confident that the market for USB will be huge. At the time, no one believed in us so we had to do everything ourselves – from developing the technology, the chips to the product itself.
"We were only 27 years old at the time and inexperienced. But we were confident that we could design good systems and chips but we didn't know anything about selling. So, we sought partners or traders who could help sell our products for us," Pua added.

Through smart partnerships and shrewd strategies, Phison soon made its way into European, American and Japanese markets. One quick move was securing Japanese tech giant Toshiba as Phison's largest shareholder and customer.

"We launched Pen Drive in June 2001 and by August the same year, we broke even! From September 2001, we were reaping monthly profits from our invention and there has been no turning back since."

Having established himself in Taiwan , Pua is in the midst of setting up Phison's branch in Malaysia , due to begin operations this February.

"I am starting a branch in Malaysia because this is my country. I would like to do contribute to its development."We have about 100 engineers at Phison in Taiwan , 20 of whom are Malaysians. Though they studied in Taiwan , I had to re-train all the engineers I hire because, like most fresh graduates (in this field), they are not industry-ready upon graduation.
"Unfortunately, some of the Malaysian engineers want to return home after a couple of years because they are homesick, about to start a family and so on. Some prefer to work in Singapore , as it is closer to home. Instead of losing them to competitors, I decided to set up an office in Malaysia where they can still work for me," said Pua.Another problem faced by returning computer engineers from Taiwan , Pua added, was the lack of job opportunities for hardware engineers in Malaysia .

"There is no environment or support for design engineers here in Malaysia. One of my Malaysian engineersfrom Phison returned home and ended up as a teacher in a Chinese school! I was shocked and thought, 'After all that training and re-training, he is going to just teach?' I told him to hold on till I open up the Phison branch in Malaysia ."Though he has been in Taiwan for the past 12 years and married to a Taiwanese, Pua is not sure how much longer he will remain there."I have really no idea where I will be in 20 years. Maybe Taiwan , maybe Malaysia , maybe somewhere else ... it all depends on my business. The industry is moving so fast that I cannot predict what or where I will be," he said.

For the moment though, Taiwan is home for Pua, his wife and two children even though he misses the Malaysian way of life."I come home once a year for Chinese New Year and will usually stay for about two weeks. There are several things I really miss about MalaysiaOne is the food!
For the past 12 years I have been craving for Malaysian food ... I miss laksa, curry noodles, chee cheong fun and all the other delicious dishes we have here."I also miss the lifestyle and quality of life here. When I come back, I am always amazed to see people hanging out and relaxing at mamak shops at night. In Taiwan , most people would still be at work at that time of the night!

"Before I got married, I used to work for 15 to 17 hours a day, everyday. Now that I have children, my wife has forbidden me to stay so late. Now, I go to work at 9am and come home by 11pm. These hours are quite normal for the Taiwanese."

The man who invented USB pen-drive is a young modest Malaysian who can't even get into a local University but invented the most versatile, indispensable computer peripheral today. And helped his adopted country, Taiwan made $31bil in the process.

The rest is history....
