Malaysia aid ship ends sea attempt to Gaza

Malaysia aid ship ends sea attempt to Gaza
A Malaysian aid ship attempting to land in Gaza after being warned off by Israeli naval forces last week has been forced to abort its mission after engine trouble, activists said.

Matthias Chang, who is heading the mission for the Perdana Global Peace Foundation, told AFP on Monday that the MV Finch was now stuck six nautical miles from Egypt's El-Arish port.

"At about 5:30pm local time (0330 GMT), our vessel developed engine trouble and we lost our steering capability, so we had to stop our attempt to reach Gaza by sea," he said.

"However, the Egyptian foreign minister has given his assurance that we will be allowed to unload our humanitarian cargo and that it will be taken by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency into Gaza," Chang said, adding that Egypt is bound by international law to lead the vessel to safety.

"Although we were not able to reach Gaza by sea, we have achieved our aim of breaking the Israeli embargo by breaching their protection zone last Monday and if the Egyptians deliver on their promise, we will have also achieved our aim of delivering aid to Gaza," Chang said.

Perdana Foundation officials said the MV Finch left Greece on May 11, carrying plastic pipes to help restore the sewage system in Gaza.

However, Israeli naval forces fired warning shots at the vessel when it was in Israeli waters, about 400 metres (yards) from Gaza, and forced the ship into Egyptian waters.

Chang said the 12 activists and crew onboard the ship, had on Monday told Egyptian authorities to either allow the vessel to dock and unload its aid or they would carry on to Gaza by sea.

As the Egyptians did not respond to the ultimatum, Chang said the ship left the waters off El-Arish, heading towards Israeli waters.

Malaysian journalist Alang Bendahara, who was also aboard the vessel, told AFP the aid ship was escorted by an Egyptian navy patrol vessel, which cautioned that Israel's naval forces could attack if they entered Israeli waters.

"The mood onboard the ship was very subdued as we were contemplating what would happen but it was clear that everyone was determined to continue so that we could get this much needed aid to Gaza," he said.

An official from the foundation Samsudin Hitam confirmed that Egypt has promised to allow the MV Finch to dock and unload its cargo on Tuesday.

Malaysia's foreign minister Anifah Aman said in a statement Monday that he had spoken to his Egyptian counterpart to speed permission for the vessel to dock and that the minister had "agreed to assist in the matter".

The Perdana Foundation is headed by former Malaysian premier Mahathir Mohamad, an 85-year-old firebrand who was a strident critic of the West and Israel over the treatment of Palestinians during his two decades in power.

The organisation was also involved in the first "Freedom Flotilla," a May 2010 attempt to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza, which ended in disaster when naval commandos raided the aid ships, killing nine Turks on board one of the vessels.

The incident sparked heavy criticism of Israel and led to a sharp deterioration in ties between Turkey and the Jewish state.

Menyerang Malaysia' Indonesia Akan Dikeroyok Oleh 4 Negara

Menyerang Malaysia' Indonesia Akan Dikeroyok Oleh 4 Negara

Kedua, mengaktifkan forum Asean.

Landslides have hit an orphanage near the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, killing 16 people, almost all of them children, officials say.

Rescuers saved nine people from the Hidayah Madrasah al-Taqwa orphanage in the district of Hulu Langat.

The rescue operation, which was hampered by rain, has now ended.

Rescuers used bulldozers, spades and their bare hands to try to reach survivors, and floodlights were brought in after night fell.

A total of 20 children and five adult carers were taking part in an event in a tent at the orphanage - which is located on a slope - when it was hit by two landslides, within seconds of each other, on Saturday afternoon.

District police chief Abdul Rashid Wahab said the bodies of 15 boys, aged between eight and 18 had been recovered. A 34-year-old caretaker at the orphanage was also killed.

Che Rosli Che Mat, an opposition lawmaker, told AFP news agency: "The landslide happened very fast. Only a few children managed to escape."

Opposition politicians told the BBC that many trees had been been cut down in the area, to make way for development schemes.

Police told people in nearby houses to leave the area amid concerns of further landslides.

Beware of dubious motor repair shop - GS Automobil Enterprise in Seremban

A friend sent this. No harm knowing.

Dear all (especially for those who travels a lot with north-south highway),

This is a true event! It happened to my friend, Alvin.

Alvin came all the way from JB to Selayang, KL, on a business trip. At about 12:30am, 29/4/2011, his Toyota was over-heated, he then parked at the emergency lane (KM269.9) before Seremban exit, North-South Highway. Planning to let the engine cool down, add water to the water tank and slowly drive to KL, he took his rest for a while...

A while later, a tow truck arrived to offer a helping hand. The driver is an Indian wearing a Chinese workshop jacket, estimated the towing fees and rough costing to repair the over-heating engine for about less than RM200. Both agreed, the car was towed to a workshop in Mambau. Seremban.

Yup, it's GS Automobil Enterprise !!!
Operated by a bunch of Indian. (I don't mean that all Indians are like them, I have lots of good Indian friends too.) There, the workshop boss quoted Alvin for about RM300 plus. Then he asked his workers to start dismantling the engine to inspect the gasket. He then told Alvin to come back the next day to get the car. Without any choice, Alvin left the workshop to look for a hotel nearby...

The next day, Alvin went back there to see the progress... there he waited, waited waited... started to worry, at that moment, there was a mid-age Chinese guy with his family seemed waiting for there car too. They started to find out that things are not right and the later went to the police station nearby to make a police report and came back to claim the car. He was charged RM2,800.00 for also a simple engine over-heating problem! And Alvin's bill is RM3,939 !!!

After everything was settled, he left Seremban heading back to KL...

Half way through, he had to stop at the emergency lane again because the engine was HOT again!!! Slowly he moved, stopped to cool it down, drove another few km... and so on until he reached KL. Here, the mechanic did a complete check to find out that the engine was completely doomed because "someone" purposely did something to the engine to kill it after sometime... OMG. That is so evil!!!

After digging through some blogs, it seems this workshop is actually very famous! There were many many cases with this GS Automobil Enterprise!!! What??? Is there any police in that area? Are they blind? Deaf? or dead? .... or they are some sort of "partners"??? You be the judges.

FYI, GS Automobil Enterprise is located at:

No. 4, Jalan Helang 1
Taman Industri Ringgan Mambau
70300 Seremban
H/P : 012-264 1993 / 010-244 1701 / 016-9960 396

Alvin made a police report and he went to the Hal Ehwa Pengguna Malaysia to further complain and hopefully they will take action towards these bunch of devils.

Whatever the outcome may be, the moral of this event is DON'T TRUST ANYBODY EXCEPT THE HIGHWAY AUTHORIZED TOW TRUCK DRIVER TO TOW YOUR VEHICLE IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU ON THE HIGHWAY!!!

PLEASE SHARE THIS TO ALL THAT YOU KNOW.

Do not buy Petrol from Petronas? Why?

This was originally sent by Phillip Hollsworth, a retired Coca Cola executive. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise, take time to read this, PLEASE.

Phillip offered this good idea.
It is worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

We have hit $ 2.00 plus a litre and it might go higher!!

Want petrol prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at last year’s action because they knew we would not continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now, you're probably thinking petrol priced at about $1.50 is cheap. It is currently $2.15 for regular unleaded.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a liter of gas is CHEAP at $1.50, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace...not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their petrol! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying petrol.

But we CAN have an impact on petrol prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from PETRONAS
the biggest price-up driver company.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of P petrol buyers. It's SO simple! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions and even BILLIONS of people!!

I am sending this note to 20 people. If each of you send it on to at least twenty more that's (20 x 20 = 400) ...... And those 400 send it to at least twenty more (400 x 20 = 8000 .... and so on, by the time the message reaches the fifth group of people, we will have reached over SIXTY FOUR MILLION consumers!!!!!
20x20 = 400 400x20 = 8,000 8,000x20 = 160,000 160,000x20 = 3,200,000 3,200,000x20 = 64,000,000 64,000,000x20 = 12,800,000,000 That's 12.80 Billion people folks, who will have been contacted!!!!!

Unbelievable?? Do the math and see for yourself!

If this message makes sense to you, then please pass it on. THEY will LOWER THEIR PRICES TO BELOW THE $1.50 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

It’s simple – send the message along to others and choose to not buy petrol from Petronas.

His right leg, which was crushed after being hit by the MPV, was amputated on the day of the accident.
Doctors were planning to surgically remove his broken left leg, which had became infected, but that was postponed as his condition was too weak.
His eldest son, Kah Hui, 27, said his father passed away at around 12.15am yesterday.
"My father had been in an induced coma since the accident as doctors feared he would not be able to withstand the tremendous pain from his injuries," he said.
Kah Hui said his family had been by his father's side, constantly talking to him despite his condition.
"We were all hoping for him to make a miraculous recovery, but he died without regaining consciousness," he said, adding that his father's condition became critical at about 9.15pm on Thursday.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Amiruddin Jamaluddin said police have almost completed the investigation into the fatal accident and would be submitting the papers to the public prosecutors soon.
"The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Penal Code for reckless driving," he said.
Ong was driving home towards Pandan Mewah at 1am when he saw Zainal and Rosamiah, who were in a Perodua Viva, involved in an accident with a Toyota Vios.
He stopped to help the couple who were trapped in their mangled car. He managed to pull Rosamiah and was trying to rescue Zainal when he was hit by a Toyota Estima MPV.
