A WELL WRITTEN LETTER !!!

A Malaysian diaspora speaks up....

I am a female Chinese Malaysian, living in the Washington DC area in the United States . I have read many of the letters that often talk about foreign countries when the writers have no real knowledge of actually living in those countries.
Many draw conclusions about what those countries are like after hearing it from someone else or by reading and hearing about them in the media or after four years in a college town in those countries.

I finished STPM with outstanding results from the prestigious St George's Girls School in Penang . Did I get a university place from the Malaysian government? Nothing.. With near perfect scores, I had nothing, while my Malay friends were getting offers to go overseas.

Even those with 2As got into university. I was so depressed. I was my parent's last hope for getting the family out of poverty and at 18, I thought I had failed my parents.

Today, I understand it was the Malaysian Government that had failed me and my family because of its discriminatory policies.

Fortunately, I did not give up and immediately did research at the Malaysian American Commission on Education Exchange (MACEE) to find a university in the US that would accept me and provide all the finances. My family and friends thought I was crazy, being the youngest of nine children of a very poor carpenter. Anything that required a fee was out of our reach.

Based on merit and my extracurricular activities of community service in secondary school, I received full tuition scholarship, work study, and grants to cover the four years at a highly competitive US university.

Often, I took 21 credits each semester, 15 credits each term while working 20 hours each week and maintaining a 3.5 CGPA. A couple of semesters, I also received division scholarships and worked as a TA (teaching assistant) on top of everything else.

For the work study, I worked as a custodian (yes, cleaning toilets), carpet layer, computer lab assistant, grounds keeping, librarian, painter, tour guide, etc. If you understand the US credit system, you will understand this is a heavy load.

Why did I do it? This is because I learnt as a young child from my parents that hard work is an opportunity, to give my best in everything, and to take pride in the work I do. I walked away with a double major and a minor with honours but most of all a great lesson in humility and a great respect for those who are forced to labour in so-called `blue collar' positions.

Those of you who think you know all about Australia , US, or the West, think again. Unless you have really lived in these countries, i.e. paid a mortgage, paid taxes, taken part in elections, you do not understand the level of commitment and hard work it takes to be successful in these countries, not just for immigrants but for people who have lived here for generations.

These people are where they are today because of hard work. (Of course, I am not saying everyone in the US is hardworking... There is always the lazy lot which lives off of someone else's hard work. Fortunately, they are the
minority..)

Every single person, anywhere, should have the opportunity to succeed if they want to put in the effort and be accountable for their own actions. In the end, they should be able to reap what they sow.

It is bearable that opportunities are limited depending on how well-off financially one's family is but when higher education opportunities are race-based, like it is in Malaysia ; it is downright cruel for those who see education as the only way out of poverty.

If you want to say discrimination is here in the US , yes, of course it is. Can you name a country where it doesn't happen? But let me tell you one thing - if you go looking for it, you will find it.
But in Malaysia , you don't have to go look for it because it seeks you out, slaps you in your face every which way you turn, and is sanctioned by law!

Here in the US , my children have the same opportunity to go to school and learn just like their black, white, and immigrant friends. At school, they eat the same food, play the same games, are taught the same classes and when they are 18, they will still have the same opportunities. would I want to bring my children back to Malaysia ?
So they can suffer the state-sanctioned discrimination as the non-malays have for over 50 years?

The injustice the non-Malay have to suffer in frightening silence is the most damaging problem one has to face throughout one's life. You just have to look at the mighty govt structures which completely favours only one race, the Umno Malay.
The Chinese and Indians are treated no better than the illegal Indonesians.
Racism and corruption are openly practised by the Malay politicians everywhere, Courts, schools/Uni, police, govt offices, contracts, GLC, NEP, ISA, local govt.
It's so powerful and intimidating that you walk with fear and keep your mouth shut on anything and everything political.
Religion is taboo unless you talk good about Islam.
As for being a slave in the foreign country, I am a happy 'slave' earning a good income as an IT project manager.

I work five days a week; can talk bad about the president when I want to; argue about politics, race and religion openly; gather with more than 50 friends and family when I want (no permit needed) and I don't worry about the police pulling me over because they say I ran the light when I didn't.

Have we seen the light at the end of the tunnel yet (Anwar Ibrahim)?
Or is it the head light of an oncoming Umno train ?
Lets hope its the former for the sake of all fair minded Malaysians.

The dream of a Malaysian 'race' in the future is nowhere in sight with the present BN govt.
Where is Negara-Ku???

Bukan porno Katrina

Bukan porno Katrina

KATRINA KAIF

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sebaliknya, mereka menjalankan proses mendapatkan kepingan kilauan emas tulen berharga.

Menceritakan pengalamannya menjalankan jual beli emas sepenuh masa, Syukor mendapat pendedahan awal menerusi program The Truth Revealed: Dinar and Dirham The Real True Money sejak dua tahun lalu.

Konsep kekayaan

EMAS Public Gold memaparkan cap mohor syarikat terbabit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RON 95 Mudah Meletup Bila Kemalangan

RON 95 Mudah Meletup Bila Kemalangan
Meletup Bila Kemalangan ?

>
> Ikuti komen-komen berkaitan RON 95 dan berita kereta terbakar apabila kemalangan pada pautan berikut http://waghih. blogspot. com/2010/ 04/ron-95- mudah-meletup- bila-kemalangan. html

Kenapa RON 95 Mudah Meletup ?
Assalamualaikum,

One does not need to refer to Paul the octopus to know that by then it may be too late for her. But the story of this woman, tragic as it sounds, is not unique.
Take a stroll along the corridors of the consultation rooms of KLH or University Hospital and you will meet patients who were given six months to a year for follow-ups, including those pertaining to serious and terminal diseases.

With the limited resources of drugs, equipment and professionals, it is a given that our hospitals just cannot cope.

As Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai explains: "The government has limited resources, 50% are with the government and another 50% are private healthcare. But the 50% in government healthcare handles 80% of the population."

But the question is not so much do we have sufficient resources, but whether we are managing them well and whether we have our priorities right? The government spends only 7% of its national budget on healthcare. In Budget 2010, there was even an almost 5% slash from RM13.8 billion to RM13.1 billion. The Malaysian Medical Association had said we spend only US$400 (RM1,280) per patient in healthcare. Our neighbours spend in excess of US$1,000 (RM3,200) per patient.

The use of a PET Scan machine to detect tumours costs around RM8,000 at a private hospital, but only RM500 at the Putrajaya Hospital. However, by the time your turn comes, you could be dead. If you survive the one-to-six-month waiting period, it could be too late.

Such machines cost RM8 million – only RM112 million to supply one to each general hospital in the 14 states – far, far less than the RM800 million it would cost to construct a new parliament building!

And while 97% of our pharmaceutical cost is subsidised, one wonders if the annual cost of RM800 million could be lowered if a Sdn Bhd was not given the monopoly to import and distribute drugs to public healthcare institutions.

While we are very much ahead in access to public healthcare, in contrast with many developing nations, the fact remains that our most vulnerable are still not getting the healthcare they deserve.

The minister’s announcement yesterday that the proposed National Health Financing Scheme (NFHS) will not involve the insurance industry is welcome, as at least we know it is not another profit-oriented scheme.

But here again, we have another example of how public healthcare is a continuously tried and tested animal, without any conceivable means of making it fair, comprehensive and yet not lead us into bankruptcy. Sihat Malaysia, e-Kesihatan and now NFHS just go to show that when it comes to a solid national health plan, we are still unable to move forward.

When you talk about getting the EPF to subsidise one’s medical costs, the criticism is that if one needs to dig into one’s life savings for medical treatment, then there is something seriously wrong with our health policy.

Britain’s National Health Scheme, which even the US is trying to emulate, is not in want of flaws but seems like a good option – the only thing is that it would mean getting Malaysians to pay more in taxes. And knowing Malaysians, we hate spending a sen more on even the most crucial things.

But like it has proven in the scheduled reduction of subsidies, the government is capable of making non-populist decisions. However, if such decisions are accompanied by or culminate in improved service and care, it would definitely have done right by the people. Now if only the government could give us an AAA guarantee that our money will be used for our welfare …

WHO CUT THE CHERRY TREE ?

Legend has it that George Washington, America's first president, chopped down a cherry tree in his youth. The story goes that George gives the tree a good swing and chops it down with an axe.

His father sees the damaged tree and asks his son if he knows who did the deed. George is quoted bravely admitting the truth:

'I can't tell a lie, Pa; you know I can't tell a lie. I did cut it with my axe.'

Below is a satire of how some Malaysian politicians may have reacted to this question:

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi - 'I did not cut down the tree , I was just taking a nap underneath it.'

Hishamuddin Hussein Onn - '...but I only own a keris ,not an axe, how to cut down the cherry tree?'

Najib Razak - 'I swear that I have never MET that tree.'

Dr Mahathir Mohamad - 'Apa nama cherry tree, yes, I chopped it down because, I don't like the idea of Pak lah sleeping under it.'

Chua Soi Lek - 'Yes I admit I cut the cherry tree as it is caught in CCTV but you cut too but it is not caught in CCTV so nobody cares !'

VK Lingam - 'It could be me, it might have been me but I don't think its me.'

Anwar Ibrahim - 'I did NOT do it, and I am not giving any DNA sample for you to plant on the axe handle.'

Mohd Khir Toyo - 'The new state government should just trim the grass and not waste time asking who cut the tree.'

Ahmad Said ( TerengganuMB) - 'I chopped it because cherry trees are more expensive to maintain than durian trees.'

Azalina Othman - 'The cherry tree is not included under my tourism MOU so I cut it down and besides there were unauthorised signboards put up around the tree.'

Shabery Cheek - 'I challenge you to a debate on cherry tree cutting.'

S Samy Velu - 'I chopped it because Hindraf members were using it as a meeting point.

Wira Ali Rustam - 'We have planted durian trees for 50 years and we will plant them for another 50 years, we do not need cheery trees, apple trees , pear trees and all those other foreign trees.'

Rais Yatim - 'You must see the bigger picture, Ahmad said cherry trees are expensive to maintain, Ali Rustam said those are against our national identity and I needed to test my new axe, so you see, it is a WIN-WIN situation all around.'

Sharir Samad - 'I cut the tree because we could no longer afford to subsidise it.'

Karpal Singh - 'I know who cut the tree but I will not tell you now, you will hear it in court.'
Bung Mokhtar - 'The big monkey did it'

Pandikar Amin Mulia - 'There is nothing in the standing orders against chopping cherry trees
Kinabatangan duduk, Bukit Gelugor duduk .

Khairy Jamaluddin - I did not do it, neither did the Mat Rempits. By the way, what's a cherry tree?'

Lim Kit Siang - 'Cherry tree also you don't know, you are an insult to Oxford !'
Nazri Abdul Aziz - 'Racist, racist, racist! When we cut down durian trees nobody made a fuss. Now...'

Malaysian Citizens - 'Oh for heavens sake! Cherry trees ! Durian trees ! Foreign trees ! Who cares, the tree is already cut ! 1 MALAYSIA , MALAYSIA BOLEEEH.!!!!!!!!

Body not decomposed after 19 yrs

Body not decomposed after 19 yrs

Members of a family who were relocating a relative's tomb, were shocked to find his incorruptible body.Shen Qing Hai died in an accident in 1991 at the age of 60. He was buried at a Chinese cemetery in Butterworth, Penang.

In April, his eldest grandson Wei Zi met a numerologist who told him that "something was wrong with his ancestor's tomb".

Wei Zi and his family then sought help from a medium, who later suggested that they relocate Shen's grave to another cemetery as the current place "lacked good energy".

At 2am on Saturday, family members exhumed the remains and were shocked by what they saw.

Shen's remains were found to be moldy but his hands, legs and head were still intact.

The hat, shirt and shoes he was wearing are in good condition although the colours had faded.
"We could see his face, his lips but the teeth had dropped off,’’ said Shen's daughter, Shun Ai.The family exhumed the body during wee hours as it could not be exposed under the sun.

Malaysia Feng Shui Association president Wong Keen Ming said moist soil, low temperature and quality of the coffin could affect the decomposition of the body.

He said from the feng shui point of view, it was bad for a family if an ancestor's body was not decomposed.

The family members could die tragically, fall sick or meet with accidents, he added.
A similar incident was reported in 1995 when the incorrupted body of a 74-year-old man was exhumed from his grave.

The man died of illness in 1985. His remains have since been reburied in another cemetery.

M'sia puts in 'pasar malam' effort at World Expo!!!

M'sia puts in 'pasar malam' effort at World Expo!!! by
Wong Teck Chi

COMMENT
The World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, running from May 1 to Oct 31, is the largest ever. About 100 million visitors are expected to visit the expo, making it the most visited in history.Over 190 countries and more than 50 international organisations are participating, but it's unfortunate that other countries are taking it far more seriously than we are - competing to present their nations in the best possible light.
The Malaysia Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo lacks conceptual depth, vision and imagination, and has failed to impress visitors despite exhibiting a wide range of products and content.
Still, the traditional Minangkabau design of the pavilion does make it stand out among other South East Asian countries' pavilions.
But the eagerness of the Tourism Ministry to promote as many tourism spots as possible has resulted in the exhibit lacking focus as a whole.Visitors entering the pavilion will first see the traditional costumes of each ethnicity, followed by a Petronas Twin Towers stand, tropical rain forests and historical monuments from Penang and Malacca.
The pavilion also features beaches, islands, golf courses and a section on Formula 1 racing.Although its theme is 'One Malaysia, City Harmonious Living', the ministry has failed in developing it by not explaining the multi-ethnic characteristics of Malaysia in depth.
Disappointingly, the exhibits are too superficial and not linked to each other.
Even the Malay, Chinese, Indian and Kadazan traditional costumes at the pavilion entrance have no information or explanation for the visitors, who are mainly made up of Chinese citizens.Accompanied by a few posters and brief notes, the introduction of world cultural heritage sites and Baba Nyonya culture in the two strait states is also boring and uninspiring. In contrast, many countries such as Saudi Arabia, Monaco have used advanced multimedia technology and even 3D movies as big as four basketball courts to introduce their own countries.
Some countries such as Israel have used internet technology to allow the visitors to talk with their citizens, making the experience more interactive and interesting.Other countries also brought in their national treasures - some being displayed abroad for the first time.
France brought in seven renowned paintings while Denmark displayed its famed 'Little Mermaid' statue. In return, their pavilions attracted huge crowds and visitors often needed to queue for two or three hours to enter.
In fact, the most popular ones like the Saudi Arabia and Japan pavilions had visitors queuing for over six hours to get in.
Improving the experience
Some visitors to the Malaysia pavilion believed that the experience could be improved if there was more imagination and depth in presenting the exhibits.
The Baba Nyonya culture exhibit could have been enlivened with descriptions of their lifestyle in depth, perhaps explained by a real Baba or Nyonya, in costume. The pavilion did have a Malay to demonstrate the unique Batik technique.
However, not being able to communicate in Chinese meant that most of the visitors - who were of course from China - were pretty much left in the dark save for a brief introductory note out front. In contrast, other countries like Finland, Germany and Saudi Arabia had fluent Chinese speaking staff.
To make matters worse at the Malaysia exhibit, the Chinese volunteers employed by the Ministry seem to lack direction and did not fulfill their responsibilities well. Indeed some seemed more absorbed in their handphones than the visitors.
Another disappointment is the pavilion, as some Malaysian tourists pointed out, is that it resembled a 'pasar malam' to promote commercial products.
Most of the space was used to promote commercial products like massage machines, coco drinks, tongkat ali coffee, furniture, paintings, and even palm oil and timber.

Alexander Yuan Xjin Kai I was there. And I agree whatever Wong said in this article. While our neighbours promote their culture and country, Malaysia is more like a hypermarket. And the food they serve there - it is airline food reheated inside a microwave at ridiculous prices (example, RM 10 for two sticks of satay). If you still insist of going there after reading this article, be my guest and go see it yourself. Then you will know whether the Ministry of Tourism is doing their jobs or not.

DontPlayGod I'm thinking of visiting the WTF in early October, when the crowd will be much thinner, and entrance to pavilions will not be too much of a hassle and easier. It is rather unfortunate that our pavilion did not place Malaysian staff who are proficient in Mandarin, not that we lack mandarin speakers in our country.

WHC Don't look far...compare with Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia expo hall... I would say, we are not even 1/10 near them in concept, design, originality, etc. Don't even mentioned about the food they sell there... I think MAS in-flight food is far better...

Seah Hong Yee I think in all fairness, we should not compare ourselves with Japan, Korea or the Saudis. However, we do need to compare ourselves with other countries with similar size of economy and budget. Take Finland, Czech Republic and Hungary for instance all 3 of these have a rather creative pavilion, nothing fancy but definitely reflect the national character of those countries. Take Czech for instance, the displays are creative and reflect its achievements. All these 3 countries has a national budget and GDP roughtly the size of Malaysia.

tanlei With a culture of 'tidak apa' (could't care less) and 'lebih kurang' (ok lah mediocrity) that pervades Malaysian life we are in a denial mode if we think we compete globally when and where it counts. 'Malaysia Boleh' has become a joke, an antithesis in the pursuit of excellence.

neoh koon eng Fair comment, I have visited the Malaysian pavilion, a huge disappointment, the Indonesian one was so much better. Our national forests were depicted by bad copies of fake trees with stuffed toy orang utans in it. On the day I visited the screen showing the Sepang race course was flickering and not working properly. The writer of the article was absolutely right about it being like pasar malam.

An Indian National to a Capricious Retired Prime Minister

Dear Mahathir

China is coming up, India is coming up, Vietnam is coming up and now even Russia is on the rise. In this flat but wired world regardless of whether we are Malaysian Malay, Chinese or Indian, if Malaysiafails to progress, all of us will become history of this country.

Without the Malays, Chinese could not do well in the country and without the Chinese, Malays will not do well either. Both have to work together to uplift Malaysia and mitigate the acute impact that is being brought about by globalisation.

For me, a true leader is someone who has the vision that focuses not just on one particular ethnic group in the country but instead nurture the future for everyone. A good leader is someone who knows what the biggest threat the country is facing and directs the people to stave off that threat. A good leader is also someone who is impartial in his ability to promote harmony in the country for as long as possible.

UMNO is a political loser leading the country to nowhere. They do not have the capacity or unction to understand what is going on in the outside world. They have no serious idea where Malaysiawill be in the next 30 years. With the emergence of the three new superpowers, India, China and Russia, standing tall and alongside the USA and the European Union, UMNO knows nothing of the kind of world it will shape up to be and how Malaysia may or may not be able to share let alone compete for the ever diminishing slice of cake of the world economy.

UMNO only knows how to get the Malays to fight with other non-Malays on insignificant issues within Malaysia, while in the meantime everyone knows all too well that these issues are oftentimes trivial, self-destructive and merely self-serving.

UMNO has no genuine interests in learning how their impoverished Malays will go on living in the future and they have no welfare concern as to what benefits them. UMNO’s chief aim is to garner votes from them. The practical outcome of theNEP is good enough evidence on how the party benefits the cronies but not the huge segment of destitute Malays. Despite all their despicable acts they are still in the power.
As you are aware, the Malays control the rights to all the lands and natural resources in this country. They control all government institutions, GLC and state-owned companies. The Malays also dominate the lawmaking process in Malaysiaincluding the decision-making processes in the formulation of the country’s economy policies.

From statistics we also know now that the Malays not only own the largest national assets but are also freely – and without conditions – allocated shares in public-listed companies. The Malays have also been accorded all kind of priorities when it comes to buying properties, awarding of public contracts, tertiary education opportunities including the granting of scholarships and even securing jobs in any of the government departments and agencies.

Yet with all these privileges and rights enjoyed by the Malays, you still complain that not enough is done to help the Malays to catch up with the other ethnic groups, principally the Chinese? Then what else should Malaysia do to satisfy the Malays? Did the Chinese seize or rob anything away from the Malays or were their accomplishments the result of their hard work?

If it is all due to their diligence, why do you say it is unfair? Many of us don’t quite get your point here. May I therefore ask you what you expect the Chinese to do in the event that your so-called NEPfail to achieve the desired result?

Would the Malays be happier if the ethnic Chinese in your country do any of the followings:

- surrender their assets and hard earned money to the Malays unconditionally;
- not to engage in any business activities;
- not to do well in all sort of school, college and tertiary examinations;
- not to earn more income or achieve greater than the Malays;
- not to advance to higher education; or
- renounce their citizenships and return to China or migrate to somewhere else?

I am a foreigner but I am surprised that your underlying intention is to ultimately divide your own country. It is so obvious that you are mainly targeting the Chinese. Frankly, tell us, what do you expect the Chinese to do in order to achieve what is so called “equality” as you so define it yourself?

Mr Mahathir, after all these criticisms you have railed against the present government, many of us feel that you are beginning to sound irrational because your arguments lack logic. You have basically exhausted all forms of good reasoning because you hardly sound convincing to any of us. Some of us think that your poor conduct might be owed to your ever increasing jealousy of the highly successful Mr Lee Kuan Yew, your former nemesis in Singapore .

I suppose that reality is always hard to accept let alone swallow. No matter how you slice it, you must accept the fact that Mr Lee is rightly regarded the Father of Singapore but given your racist attitudes, you can hardly be called the Father of Malaysia. Mr Mahathir, accept the fact that unlike you, Mr Lee continues to be a force of influence to the government of Singapore and he will likely be until the day he dies.

On the other hand you lost all abilities to influence the government the moment you stepped off the dais as the country’s prime minister.
You also need to tacitly accept that Mr Lee remains intellectually sharp (sharper than you, we think) and immensely popular on the world stage. Mr Lee continues to be an international leader respected by many but unfortunately, try as you may, you are not quite so. Maybe that is why you sought out your popularity in certain African and North African states where some think you are god. That must be good for your ego but Mr Mahathir, it does nothing for your country’s economy though.

Because of your jealousies toward Mr Lee, your views become blinkered and unbalanced as you continue to train your personal hatred at him across the border. All these eventually manifest themselves into a series of diabolical attacks against your successors in your own country.

We may be foreigners but we can see so obviously that you are unhappy whenever your successors become more popular than you. Is there any good in doing that? What is your intention? Can’t you take a back seat and chill out? Your time is over. Retire gracefully and enjoy your sunsets. Most political leaders around the world do that. Why don’t you do the same as others? Why do you continue to meddle? I don’t get you at all.

During your “rule,” you were critical of most of the developed countries aiming more specifically at the western sphere usually out of jealousy. And then after you had stepped down from office, you criticised (and continue to do so) every single minister who served you and still remained in the cabinet simply because you believed they didn’t listen to you. Mr Mahathir, when will you ever stop criticising anyone? Can’t you respect the decisions of others?

Back to your recent blog, is there anything wrong with the Chinese in this country?
Do they seize or rob the money away from the Malays?
Do they have the ability to come out with any policies to marginalise the Malays?
Do they dominate the lawmaking process of this country?
Do they formulate the economy policies in this country?
Do they control the government departments and agencies in this country?
Do they control the state-owned companies andGLC in this country?
Do they control the country’s largest resource (oil) companies and banks?

Of course you know the answers, right?

Malays are the one who dominate the lawmaking process of this country;
Malays are the one who formulate the economy policies in this country and in so doing, shape them to exclusively favour the Malays;
Malays are the ones who control the government departments and agencies not to mention also the state-owned companies, GLCs as well as the country’s largest resource (oil) companies and almost every single major financial institution;
Malays are the ones who control the funds in this country.

With all these exclusive non-negotiable rights enjoyed by the Malays, what else do you want the Chinese to do?

Do you want them to surrender their homes and savings including their wealth that they earned with their hard work to the Malays?

Or do you want to ask all the Chinese to return their citizenship and leave the country? If you condone your fellow Malays in accusing the Chinese of being squatters (pendatang) in your country, I guess that is what it amounts to, right?

Mr Mahathir, have you ever stop to think why 30 years of implementing the NEP had not brought about the desired results or should I say, not achieved the principal objectives and that is to economically equip ALL the Malays in the country? Maybe the NEP could have but you and your cronies denied it the ability to; instead allowed the system to carry on for more years than it ought to so that others can call you god because of the illicit money you funnelled to them.

Under the NEP there is a complex series of policies that favours the Malays. And despite these policies, the Malays still can’t get what they want – again the question is what else do you want the Chinese to do? Do you blame the Chinese simply because they are industrious and focused? Or should you level your blame at those Malays who do not treasure the opportunities that you claim you have given them? Having asked that did you or did you not give them these opportunities?

You definitely are aware that the NEP has been misused for at least 23 years (while you were in office), benefiting only your cronies and those who aim to stroke your ego as they seek favours from you. Since it is apparent that the NEP was reshaped by you to serve and benefit you and your cronies, then refrain from blaming the Chinese when the average Malay continues to languish in your country. It has nothing to do with the Chinese but NEP and the Malay themselves.

This is a globalised world, Mr Mahathir. The Chinese and Malays should not be fighting against each other because Malaysia needs to focus on competing on an international scale.

China used to lie in the backwaters, lagging seriously behind Malaysia but that seems a long time ago now. Today they have not only caught up but have sped past Malaysia to compete with far larger economic rivals like the USA , Japan andEurope. Mr Mahathir, do you think you can ask them to slow down their development so that your country can play catch up? If the Chinese government refuses to listen, will you then make a complaint to the United Nations that China is developing too fast and this is unfair to Malaysia , which adapts a more passive approach? Who gives you the right to prevent others from progressing?

Who do you think you are? This is a flat world – obviously, Mr Mahathir, you did not read the book named “The World is Flat” but I encourage you to. The problem with you is that you are so narrow-minded that you level your sights on only the Chinese and/or Malays in your country.

You would be doing Malaysia a larger favour if or when you learn that in the end we’re all living in a flat world. In other words, look farther and more horizontally askance at the bigger world out there. That’s the world that Malaysia continues to flounder so long as you and the blinkered UMNO have exclusive say over how your country is run. And if Malaysia remains in its doldrums state within the next few years, believe me, it will be irrelevant whether you are Malay or Chinese; because the country will then have to fight for scraps withSomalia. Imagine that.

Have a God-blessed day.

P.S. Mr Mahathir, you are not even Malay but an Indian at and by birth. In other words, you criminally exploited the NEP to your own advantage. You helped UMNO to facilitate Barisan Nasional to rob the country and claim the wealth for your own. You made yourself out to be god but you were instrumental in destroying the integrity of the poor Malays who needed government assistance. Shame on you
