Many Sabahan homeless in Kuala Lumpur

Many were cheated by their employers. This is routine treatment to all workers in the whole of Malaysia that share similar laws and their enforcement, which made Malaysia, especially Sabah, the worst in Human Trafficking i.e. SLAVERY.

Kota Kinabalu: A Daily Express check in Kuala Lumpur confirmed many homeless and jobless Sabahans there. They are mostly from rural areas and depending on charitable organisations for survival. This reporter met about 15 Sabahans and three Sarawakians who turned up at the Archdiocesan Office for Human Development (AHOD) at Jalan Bukit Nenas, Kuala Lumpur, last Friday.

AHOD, the official arm of the Catholic Church (in the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur) is among non-governmental organisations providing free food for the homeless in the nation's capital.
Officer-in-charge of AHOD, Carl D'Cunha, as well as Sabahan priest Fr Valentine Gompok who is currently serving at the St Francis of Assisi parish in Cheras, helped to arrange the meeting.
Also present was Anita Sani from Persatuan Momogun Malaysia who said she would submit a report to the relevant authorities in Sabah for further action.

Daily Express had on Jan. 18 exposed the presence of quite a number of young people from East Malaysia, mostly from Sabah, stranded in the nation's capital, roaming the streets and depending on free meals.

The expose came about following investigative reporting follow-ups with other NGOs providing similar charitable services there, namely Kechara Soup Kitchen Society and Street Fellowship at Klang Bus Station.

Among the Sabahans who identified themselves as homeless were 33-year- old Apai John from Kg Mantailang, Tenom; Nicklos Jusit (24) from Kepayan Ridge, Kota Kinabalu; Ramsi Noing (30) from Mile 7, Tinusa 2, Sandakan; Junik John (21) from Ranau; Mohd Fauzi Mahatin (24) from Kg Desa Aman, Kundasang; Syukri Ober (24) from Kunak; Bally Balingi (24) from Kg Paguokon, Tenom; Sahadan Saidin (23) from Anjung Teduh, Felda Sahabat 1, Lahad Datu; Rejis Jais (24) from Kota Marudu; Hermis Saimin (19) from Ranau; Martin Majari (35) from Kg Bambangan in Pitas; Abdul Asintu (30) from Sandakan; and Prislu Sapsin (35) from Beluran.
Another Sabahan from Tambunan turned up for the free meal but declined to join the meeting. Half of them expressed desire to return to Sabah when they had the money while the rest hoped to stay on for a while to see if their fortunes improved.

The Sarawakians who joined in included a 17-year-old girl Angira ak Dolkit from Kampung Serikin in Bau; Ritzman G. Clerk (38) from Sri Aman and Seling ak Dian from Kapit. They said they slept anywhere that was comfortable.

According to Carl, AHOD looks into the food aspects of about 30 or so young people from East Malaysia.

Apai, considered one of the "seniors", has guided about 15 Sabahans who he found stranded in various parts of KL to places such as AHOD where they at least get free meals. He admitted being jobless and homeless in Kuala Lumpur for about four to five years now.

"In Kuala Lumpur, there are many homeless Sabahans, (easily) more than a hundred and maybe 300 to 400. You can find them in many places like Masjid India, Daya Bumi, Klang Bus Station and Bukit NenasÉini yang betul-betul merempat, yang tiada rumah, tiada apa semua (these are truly homeless, do not have a home, do not have anything at all)," he said.
According to him, most came to the peninsula following private job recruitment agents but ended up cheated by these agents or those employing them. Others followed their Sabahan friends already there, hoping to find work but after some time either quit due to social problems.
As for Apai, mixing with the wrong people caused him to be in this situation. He came to the peninsula about 13 years ago and did various jobs, including as a security guard, contract worker and factory worker.

Apai said people like him sleep either along the roadsides, parks or at buildings like Daya Bumi or the Puduraya bus terminal. He said although all those from Sabah do not sleep at the same place every night, their daily routine is similar.

"Normally, we will go to another church near a bus stand in Klang which is open at about 10am daily and closes at 5pm for our free morning breakfast and lunch," he said.

After that, he said they would go their separate ways, some to meet other friends or to look for another place to spend the night.

"Sometimes I will follow friends and look for workÉthis way we can get part-time jobs. This is routine for us everyday."

Because the charity centres only provide meals during daytime, dinner requires going to behind fast food outlets, usually KFC, or similar premise to salvage discarded leftover food they can eat from rubbish bins.

"We look for any leftover food still eatable that we can find in the rubbish bins of these premisesÉkira okay la, boleh juga (it's okay, still can)," he said, adding that the homeless people from other states also do likewise.

However, he said they (homeless, including from different states) never fight over the leftover food at these premises because "sama- sama faham (mutually understand each other)".
Apai, whose family once lodged a missing person report back in Tenom, said for personal hygiene, he would normally go to the nearest mosque to bathe. When nature calls and if he does not have any money, he will relieve himself at any secluded place he can find. Admitting it is hard to be homeless and jobless in the nation's capital without any place to turn to for assistance, he hoped the Government will help people like them.

During the meeting, Fr Valentine provided them consultation while Anita recorded their particulars for further action by the Sabah State Government. Anita, who is based in Kuala Lumpur, claimed to have been directed by the authorities in Sabah after Daily Express broke the story.

She said the directive came after a meeting held a week earlier involving various parties.

She also took down the particulars of those who wished to return to Sabah.

Most of those present admitted have been involved in drugs but have since repented.

Many still had their MyKad with them while a few others were holding temporary identification documents after losing theirs to snatch thieves or to former employers.

Mula-mula mungkin datuk gua start panaskan enjin kereta dia sebelum pergi sekolah kerja guru besar. Kemudian bapa gua pula bila dah pakai kereta, teringat pula amalan datuk gua masa nak pergi sekolah dulu. Jadi bapa gua pun setiap pagi sebelum nak pergi kerja panaskanlah juga enjin Volvo kegemarannya. Kemudian bila gua dah besar, dah pakai kereta sports dua pintu, gua pula ikut panaskan enjin kereta. Tapi sebenarnya gua tak buat. Sebab gua ada ilmu pengetahuan tentang enjin. Tambah lagi biasanya gua bangun lambat.

Gua rasa memang dah tak payah nak panaskan enjin lagi dah. Start kereta terus jalan saja.
Salah seorang jurutera penghantaran kuasa di Ford, Amerika Syarikat iaitu Les Ryder berkata, “Engines run best at their design temperature”.

Does this make sense 2 u?
Rakyat make more sense than Leader, so what is the Leader doing at his job?

Is the Malaysian Government Desperate for MONEY??
Yes, I think they are.

What do I get for paying toll everyday? Jams.

Now I have to pay an extra RM50 for each credit card. For what? for the cronies to flounder Extra GST (goods and services tax). leads to more corrupt practices Again, how does that benefit me?

Look at the long list: I have to pay for security guards because the police are hopeless.

I have to install filters because the water supply is dirty.

I have to watch satellite tv because the government broadcasts crap.

Many kids have to go for tuition or to private schools because the government schools are bad.

We have to pay IPPs (independent power providers) because the government cannot provide consistent electricity.

We have to pay Indah Water to clean up the sewers.

We have to pay tax on foreign cars because Mahathir wants to keep his dying Proton - his own car company alive.

Most have to drive because the government cannot provide good public transport. We have to pay to sustain the government's affirmative action policies.

We have to pay for private health care because the public hospitals are crowded .

All in all, we have to pay a PREMIUM to stay in this country!

1Malaysia Boleh!!!

Malaysia's TOP HAUNTED PLACES

The below are lists of Malaysia’s top haunted places that you can, may or even experience ghosts.

1.Georgetown, Penang – A T-junction better known as The Deadly Junction is located beside the Union High School. It is said that if you ever drive through this lonely road late at night, your care will go out of control and crash due to the too many accidents that happened there. It is also said that there is a tiny unknown tree beside the road which looks like a lady carrying a child. The story was known by some old folks saying that this lady was once a bomoh (witch doctor) who kidnapped her sister’s son. Somehow, they never again appeared anywhere except other than being seen beside this road

2.St Michael’s Institution, Ipoh – A group of Catholics missionaries arrived here in 1912 and began building a school next to the famous Kinta River. It did not take long for the missionary brothers who ran the school to have enough funds to erect a huge school building with unique French structural design. When the WW2 broke out, the school was used bu Japanese secret police as their headquarters. Needless to say, there were lots of torturing carried out. The buidling itself had many tunnels which had been sealed off and the tunnels were said to be used by the Japanese to torture prisoners and to store food. Most of the sightings occurs in the Chapel on the fourth floor of the bluiding where a Brother was seen dressed in a black robe holding praying beands in a sitting position facing towards the door (which leads to the brothers quarters) in the very early morning without a head. Those who had witnessed it were asked to keep it a secret

3.Malay College Kuala Kangsar, Kuala Kangsar, Perak – This school is said to be a former site of Japanese occupation camp during WW2. Students would sometimes be awakened by something that stares down directly at them. A marching platoon can be heard in the field and sounds of dragging chains can be heard through the campus corridors. A tree on the campus, which is located right beside a lampost where the light shines down on it, reflects a shadow of a man hanging from the tree! A few other old colonial admin buildings that were used by the Japanese during the Occupation in the 1940s where executions are taken place are buildings like Victoria Institution and Bukit Bintang Girls School

4.MARA Junior Science College, Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor – A white flying apparition can be seen in various parts of the building

5.Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur – A boys school was tured into a Japanese base during the Occupation. Many British soldiers and locals were brutally tortured to death in the basement and some older buildings on the campus. It is said that not only are apparitions common in the day as well as in the night, there had also been many cases of spirits possessing students. The possessed boys would behave strangely and even violently harming other students and teachers, forcing the stronger teachers and students to restrain him. The possesed boy would only snap out of it a few hours later and remembering nothing

6.Tambun, Ipoh, Perak – Singtings of an old lady on the roadside while driving

7.Tambun Inn, Ipoh, Perak – Lights were reported to turn on and off by itself and sounds of whispering could be heard where no one was around

8.Bukit Tunku, Kuala Lumpur – A spooky place to be even when it is actually one of the most elite residential areas in Kuala Lumpur. This place with its many big and tall trees and very winding roads, has an eerie feeling about it even at broad daylight. It is said that a few years ago two youth embarked on a high speed motorcycle chase around the curvy roads of the area. One of the youth crashed at a dark stretch of the road, which is actually a very sharp corner. There have been claims about sightings of a young man riding a motorcycle at high speed, who mysteriously vanished in the dark

9.Poliklinik Cheras, Kuala Lumpur – Used to be a government hospital but it is being abandoned with no reason. There were rumors that say there are still some dead patients that loiters around the area

10.Genting Highlands Resort, Pahang – A famous hill top resort and casino, many people incurred gambling debts and committed suicide there. Some visitors leaving the hotel lobby reported seeing a man in red jump from the rooftop, just to disappear before he hits the ground. Certain rooms are not available for rent no matter how full the hotel was. Those who have seen the inside reported that it was filled with old Chinese ghost wards. They would subsequently fall sick for days afterwards

11.Highland Towers, Kuala Lumpur – A tragic event where one of the 3 blocks of apartment at this place fell apart due to landslide and heavy downpour prior to that fateful day. Since then, the Highland Towers have become famous for claims of being a very haunted place. Voices of the dead can be heard at night and ghostly figures are said to have appeared at the scene. There are also a story about a taxi driver who picked up a woman passenger at the middle of the night and being asked to drop her at the place. She left a bag and the poor taxi driver found it to be full of blood!

12.Police Station in Tras, Pahang – During the 1950’s, a police corporal and his wife were found in a state of shock and terror after opening their door to an unknown figure. Many police personnel were terrorized by this entity that other policemen would rather resign than being transferred to this remote station

13.Kellies Castle, Perak -Sometimes door are opened themselves and lots of scary screaming voices can be heard.

14.Puchong House, Kuala Lumpur – Evil drawings on the walls. Some say the ghost of a woman who used to stay there haunts the place. Other than that, just stepping into the house is enough to keep you awake for months.

15. S.K (1) Kuala Ampang, Selangor – Could hear taps in the toilet running by itself and sightings of a lady in white walking behind the school compound.

Petrol Price 2010!!!

Petrol Price 2010!!!

Harga Kereta Malaysia drop 40%
Harga Kereta Import drop dari tax 200% ke 30%.
Petrol, lu orang siap la!!!

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 8 - The mechanism for fuel pricing in Malaysia has finally been finalized and controlled under one mechanism, which also takes the high and lower income group people into consideration, according to Finance Trade Minister Tan Sri Anuar Ali.

"From May 1, the fuel will be pegged at RM 3.90 per litre for RON97, while RON95 will increase to RM 3.70 per litre.

However, the prices of national-made vehicles will be lowered by at least 40 percent. For example, a full-spec family sedan Proton Persona 1.6 litre engine will cost around RM 23,000.00 excluding road tax and insurance.

Import tax and excise duty will be revised to only 30 percent, from the current 200 percent. Imported vehicles such as the new Toyota Camry 2.4 litre engine will cost around RM 65,000.00." he said.

The mechanics has been said to be undertaken by a team of experts from Australia and Canada who were earlier briefed on the issue of subsidy in this country, whereas after consideration by the transport minister, they have signed the constitution that the system will be made on May 1, the day it goes into effect.

Under the new system, there will be a major effect on the existing consumers who have already purchased a vehicle and to those who are in the midst of repaying the loan of their vehicle to their financial institutions.

Ahmad Tajuddin said the government might also re-introduce a cash return annually to Malaysians who own a 1,500 cc and below vehicle.

The amount have yet to be decided but he assured that the amount will compensate the price of fuel by at least half to eligible Malaysians based on bumi quota. - SkyNet News Asia

Puppy for adoption

Puppy for adoption

This is a puppy that I found wandering around SS2, Petaling Jaya on Monday 25th January 2010. I took her to my vet so that he could make sure that she is not suffering from any illnesses. She is under observation at this time and is healthy - no fleas or ticks when she was found and she appeared to be plump. She is currently boarding at my vet's in Old Klang Road and will be vaccinated.
I placed a "Found" notice in the Puppy.com forum but have not received any response so it is unlikely she is a lost dog. I am now looking for adopters for her. If you or anyone are interested in adopting this puppy, please let me know. I have not yet thought up a name for her.
She is around 3-4 months old. Full grown, the vet estimates that she will be around 25-30kgs. She is beige and cream. Poor dear looks rather scared in the head-shot - she just had her temperature taken. Anyone would look disconcerted after a thermometer had been shoved up their bums.
Potential adopters can email me at the above email address or SMS me at 012 213 8233. Please do NOT phone.
Please HELP me - forward this email to your friends to help me reach more potential adopters. Adopting her is out the question for me as I currently have 5 dogs and two cats in residence - of which one of the dogs and one of the cats is available for adoption.
Thanks and appreciation.

"Ayah " Joke for year 2010!!!

Joke for year 2010!!!
A man came home from work and his children ran to him and called out ‘Ayah! Ayah!’.

His neighbor got very upset and said to him, “Can you please tell your children not to call you ‘Ayah’?”

The man asked, “Why?” The neighbor retorted, “Because my children call me ’Ayah’ too.

They might get confused and mistake you to be their father.”

Then the man told his neighbour, are you not ashamed to say that your children do not know who is their 'Ayah'.

So you are saying by using the word 'Ayah' ,your children will call me ayah too without knowing who is their father?

The neighbour said yes, only my children should use the word 'Ayah'.

The man said, then there is something wrong in what you are teaching your children.

They are not sure and do not know who their 'Ayah' is !!
