A H1N1 story from Malaysia

From: Fatimah bt Khalid K087 - PTJ

From: Lina Rahmat - Program Management Office

High risk infection to person yg smooking, has atshma, children, pregnant woman
Beginner stage : Batuk, selsema, demam, sakit tekak, bila terbesin bunyi tak kuat...
Second Stage :Susah bernafas, simtom macam asthma but not asthma, at this stage if you touch the person, or breath in the same room 80% boleh kena...masa ni kena kuarantin...at hospital. Masalahnya sekarang dah ramai yg kena. hospital tak cukup katil & bilik kuarantin...Bila u pengsan macam nak mati baru dia org admitted.macam kes adik I.

Critical Lung infection. Bila X ray we can see the virus covered the lung. Like my brother case. Very scary bila tengok x ray tu. At this stage u need oksigen with highest level, Strongest antivral..very high drug. At least 7 days oksigen kena bagi. % to recover depend to age, imune badan u. That's why kalau baby atau budak2 susah nak kata...normally die. My brother hari ni genap 8 hari..still need oksigen. Kesian dia. Masa tahap critical tu tercungap2 dia bernafas, sampai menangis..Sampai satu tahap dia berguling atas simen sbb dah tak tahan...sampai dia give up ..sampai dia blh cakap lebih baik Allah ambik nyawa dia...Itu lelaki tu..imagine kalau pompuan atau budak2. We all cuma blh tengok dia dari cermin...tak blh masuk dlm bilik kuarantin...Dr & nurse aje boleh masuh...siap pakai baju plastik. To support him, what we did bagi sms, bagi dia alquran biar dia baca so that dia tenang, bagi tasbih biar dia zikir ingat Allah & bagi Air yasin...Alhamdulillah pastu dia ok sikit.Ada hikmahnya...All the family member unite to support my brother fighting the virus.

Masalahnya hospital swasta tak terima H1N1 case, sekarang ni semua depend hospital kerajaan yg most of the doctors still young . The oldest dr in my brother ward was 28 years. All the Otai dah pergi private. Lepas tu plak this is the first time to treat H1N1 patient. At the same time dr bz with other case as well...1 doktor 5 patient...kat gov hospital...kesian dr2 tu...berhempas pulas nak selamatkan patient. I appreciate them, mmg very appreciate dia org jaga adik i dgn baik sekali..So far hospital Ampang is the best goverment hospital yg i jumpa..very efficient.Very quick action ..Even senior dia org dah pergi private & they don't have much experience , dia org tetap work hard give the best treatment to the patients..sampai tak balik rumah...tidor kat hospital.

Rasa nak peluk & cium dia org sebab selamatkan adik I...Thanks to Allah

Dyslexia screening at UKM

Dyslexia screening at UKM

Dr Alvin Ng, a clinical psychologist, will embark on this research project and he is seeking to test children with risk of dyslexia - poor reading and writing skills, though most usually also have other associated learning difficulties. (Pl read his email below)

Many smart kids who do badly in school are often mislabelled as lazy. As such, they don't get the required help, and they end up struggling through school .

So, if you suspect that your child may just have dyslexia, volunteer for this exercise. If tested positive, then seek assistance soonest possible. If not, good and find out other reasons for his low performance at school.

If interested, kindly contact Dr Alvin directly at nglaioon@yahoo. com.

Malaysia PM asks Indian businessmen to invest in biosciences, information technology

Malaysia PM asks Indian businessmen to invest in biosciences, information technology
Malaysia Sun
Wednesday 20th January, 2010

New Delhi, Jan.20 : Visiting Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammed Najib Tun Abdul Razak on Wednesday met representatives of Indian corporate sector in the national capital and asked leaders of the Indian corporate sector to invest in Malaysia in areas of biosciences and information and communication technologies (ICT).

The Malaysian PM also addressed Malaysia-India Business Forum at a meet hosted by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). "Malaysia on the other hand needs expertise in ICT (Information and communication technologies), I was so impressed with Bangalore when during my last visit especially visiting the campuses of Infosys, I told myself it is not India... Your expertise in biosciences is something we want to encourage, the fauna, the flora of that magnitude and diversity in Malaysia can be harnessed to get potential with the partnership of Indian companies.

It makes us sense therefore to look to India as a key provider of the biosciences, ICT as well as education," said Mohammed Najib Tun Abdul Razak. The Malaysian PM also urged India to conclude an under-negotiation comprehensive bilateral Free Trade (FTA) pact by the year-end."The Malaysia Indian Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement is vital for us to conclude.

I would like it concluded by the end of this year if possible and the combination of that would be a visit, a return visit by Manmohan Singh to Malaysia to sign an agreement in Kuala Lumpur," he added.Malaysia and India started negotiations on the bilateral FTA in February 2008.Razak also stressed on the need of expanding scope of ASEAN-India free trade agreement, which has come into force on January 1, 2010 and covers only goods."A parallel agreement is being organised at the regional level which we want to finalise.

The ASEAN-India Free Trade Agreement, also covering trade-in-goods only, came into force on the first day of this month for ASEAN and India. If I may suggest, let us also fast-track those negotiations and conclude the other two limbs of the agreement-covering services and investment by August this year," said Razak.India and ASEAN signed the long-awaited FTA last year. Under the agreement ASEAN and India will lift import tariffs on more than 80 percent of traded products between 2013 and 2016.

Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday (January 19) on a five-day state visit accompanied by a high-powered delegation comprising Malaysian ministers, lawmakers, business delegates and other officials.India and Malaysia are expected to sign over a dozen bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) during this visit.

Pass it on.....PUSH-POCKETING IN KUALA LUMPUR

PUSH-POCKETING IN KUALA LUMPUR

A few days ago a new type of crime has surfaced in town.It goes something like this:-Somebody slips a hand-phone into your pocket, sometimes it could be just a wallet withan identity card and a few ringgit.

A few minutes later, the 'owner' comes upand confronts you, the 'thief '..He makes a big commotion that you stole his stuff.

You, caught unaware, are then pulled aside by the'owner' for a settlement. You are intimidated and threatenedthat if you do not pay up the police will be brought in.If you pay up, this 'owner' lets you go.If not, the police are brought in.

Another strange thing is that there always seemsto be a 'witness' to your 'theft'.

I am told this often happens to foreigners atthe Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)or even at LRT trains.Given that you're 'guilty until proven innocent'as far as the Malaysian police are concerned,I understand some poor people are in jail forthese 'offences'.

At the KLIA, the 'owner' throws his hand-phone andwallet with the few ringgit notes into the luggagetrolley of a just arrived passenger. The drama unfolds a few minutes later. The real culprit has easily convinced our Malaysian policeto arrest the real victim (if he has not paid up the 'settlement' demand). This is a very serious matter.

This is another form of extortionists operating in broad daylight. They are disgusting criminals who wi! ll do anythingto rob and steal. The sickening part of the wholescenario is that unless you pay the 'quoted settlement' money, they will put you in real trouble by calling the police..

The real culprit gets back his hand-phoneand wallet but the real victim ( i.e. could be any one of us)is thrown into the police lock up and charged in court.

So do be very careful, otherwise you may end up as a 'thief'as you have no way to prove your innocence..

Pass it on.....let more people be awareof such things around them.

Tony Fernandes Take Over West Ham United

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 5 – Air Asia boss Tony Fernandes (pic) is poised to launch a takeover of English Premier League club West Ham United this week, the Daily Telegraph newspaper has reported from London.

The newspaper said that Fernandes, a lifelong supporter of West Ham, could be announced as the club’s new owner before this Sunday’s league match at home to Wolves.
As recently as last month, Fernandes had ruled out any plans to immediately launch a bid for the club. But the British daily said the Air Asia boss has now finally decided he wants to invest in the club.

Fernandes has been having sporadic talks about taking a stake in West Ham for several months now. But he told Singapore’s The Straits Times in December that he had ruled out making a bid for the club as he is busy running an F1 team — the 45-year-old is Lotus’ team principal for next season.

The paper also revealed that he held detailed discussions with West Ham chairman Andrew Bernhardt on a previous occasion, but apparently they did not bear fruit.

The Daily Telegraph has now reported that talks with Bernhardt have continued and, it is believed, Fernandes has finally decided that he wants to invest in the club.

Two other bidders have submitted offers. Last week David Sullivan, the former Birmingham City co-owner, underwent the second stage of the due diligence process. On Monday night the Intermarket Group claimed it had met Rothschild, the bank that has been engaged by Bernhardt to sift through the offers, and will formally submit a bid in writing today, the Daily Telegraph said.

But the newspaper said that it is Fernandes’s bid that has caused the greatest excitement given his track-record for innovative ideas, flair and growing businesses as well as his passion for sport.

The businessman is also firmly committed to supporting manager Gianfranco Zola and met the Italian after the Boxing Day victory over Portsmouth.
